Mike + Liz’s waterfront Charleston wedding

This Spring, one of our favorite wedding planners in town said “I Do” to her absolutely adorable husband and we were there to document the entire day, from beginning to end!! It’s always an honor to photograph someone’s wedding, but when it’s someone you know and someone who spends their weekends planning other bride and groom’s weddings, it’s especially special because it’s finally THEIR WEEKEND!! We spent the weekend with Liz and Mike, laughing, crying (those toasts always get me!!) and snapping photos all along the way! I think we delivered something like 1,300 photos, total, from the weekend! So when we say our goal is for your grandkids to be able to sit down and look through your wedding photos and feel like they were right there with you for the whole day, we’re not really joking! haha! There were SO MANY things that we loved about their wedding day! For starters, they held their ceremony at a private waterfront mansion on John’s Island, their cocktail hour surrounded the pool and their reception was held on the side lawn, overlooking the marsh! Do I even need to go on?! I mean, seriously! Their wedding invitations included a one of a kind watercolor of the front gate at their venue and Liz’s vintage inspired Italian silk gown with a Dior bow, designed and hand sewn by Modern Trousseau‘s founder Callie Tein was a serious showstopper!! Throw in the fact that she wore the most gorgeous Tory Burch heels as her something blue and her sister’s veil as her something borrowed and it was about as perfect as it gets! And don’t even get me started on the reception design! I mean, WOW!!!! Oh and the flower petal toss at the end of the night – Yes Please!!! But one of my favorite memories from their wedding day was when the ceremony was about to begin and the skies opened up and poured down rain but Liz and Mike didn’t mind at all! They just danced together in the bridal suite while all of their guests sipped cocktails under the immaculately designed reception tent, and reminded all of us what their wedding day was about! Rain or shine, they were getting married!!! … and they did! … and it was P.E.R.F.E.C.T!
