Since posting our first blog 10 days ago, we have received lots of emails from couples around Korea looking to do a photo shoot with us. We are flattered, humbled but most of all excited by the reception our new “business” has gotten. One of the emails we got was from a couple that came to Korea at the same time we did. Jill had met them over 3 years ago during our orientation and even though we live in the same city, our paths never crossed until we met for the shoot last Saturday. David and Meg just recently celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary and wanted some photos to commemorate the occasion. We were more than happy to oblige!
David and Meg hail from West Virginia but if I had to guess what state they were from upon meeting them, West Virginia would have been about #49 on my list, right before Alaska. No offense all you native “Mountaineers”! They met at camp the summer before their senior year of high school and have been together ever since. David is currently building his portfolio to work with a video game company as a 3D artist. Meg is studying holistic nutrition when she is not teaching and wants to work in pre-natal nutrition when she is done. Her goal is to have a retreat in Hawaii focused on health and wellness for pregnant women and their families. David and Meg are both vegan and very conscious about what they put in their bodies. She told me that about 80% of their diet is made up of raw fruit and vegetables!
The location we chose was a stretch of pebble beach near my house on Yeongdo Island. They wanted to incorporate a picnic into the shoot and it was fitting that about 80% of the food they brought was fruit (with some kimbap thrown in for good measure). David and Meg are still, after 5 years of marriage very much in love and it showed. Every time we would take a kissing photo, David, without fail would ask if we needed to do it again! We did our best to capture that love. After the shoot was over, we all settled down on the blanket and enjoyed some fruit and chatted as we watched the sunset. We continued the chat at a local coffee shop. It was a lovely evening with some lovely people. On a random note, David told me about this amazing iPhone application called Mobile Mouse that turns your iPhone into a mouse to control your computer. It’s pretty much changed my life! Your welcome.
